WILL BLOGS BE THE DEATH OF SEO?

I’m not referring to the usual dog fights between bloggers and seo’s we see occasionally on Search Engine Watch , or different blogs. The original blogging community always viewed seo’s as a threat to their blogs, with comment spam, and trackback spam. They viewed seo’s with much mistrust and anger. So my headline here may be a little misleading to some. In no way am I implying that bloggers have nothing to worry about, in fact just the opposite!

For years bloggers enjoyed a sort of holistic way of life with blogs. Not concerned with seo, but with content instead, even though the content was boring in most cases. All that changed when webmasters recognized the powerful seo characteristics which are already inherent in most blog platforms! Blogs it seems has powerful features which compliment seo in a big way!

The invasion began slowly but quickly picked up speed as more and more webmasters seen blogs as a way to further enhance their seo for their main sites! But wait, there’s more! Some webmasters were able to see that blogs are actually better all the way around for almost every thing! So why bother with static web sites at all? Why not just use blogs! Add such programs as RSS To Blog, and you can have a Army Of Blogs!

So here we are recognizing not only how powerful blogs can be, but also questioning why we should even waste our time with regular static web sites. This is certainly not good news for those holistic bloggers! But it is good news for SEO and webmasters! Actually a more suiting title for this article would have been, “Will blogs be the death of static web sites?”. But that wouldn’t have captured nearly as much interest as my title, WILL BLOGS BE THE DEATH OF SEO?

Actually there is some truth to my title! Since weblogs, also known as blogs, have so much seo capabilities inherent in them, it does make seo so freaking easy that many will not need to hire a professional SEO for their blog! But I admit suggesting the death of SEO in general is definitely premature to say the least. Reason being that there are still more webmasters who do NOT understand the superiority of blogs, and or, do not know how to begin the transition from static web sites to blogs. Many webmasters still believe a blog has to look like a blog, and are against it just for that reason alone!

The truth is if your using wordpress, you can make your blog look any way you want! Even adult webmasters are using modified wordpress templates for web sites that are not that easily recognized as being blogs! Yet they enjoy all the benefits of blogs! All one has to do is find some one to design a wp theme for them. Or learn how to do it themselves.

I was almost tempted in using the title Will SEO be the death of blogs, but felt that would be just as misleading. The only point I’m trying to make here is that blogs are powerful vehicles with a lot of built in seo capabilities in them already! Most understand they are useful, some are starting to actually understand how useful, and more importantly, WHY! To say blogs are here to stay would be a understatement! Blogs can be viewed as the death of SEO as we know it. But seo will continue to live and grow through blogs! Perhaps our holistic friends should consider making a transition to static web sites
