Every one eventually asks the question which is better Blogger blogspot blogs or Wordpress blogs. The answer is always unanimously Wordpress! There are many reasons why wordpress is a better choice, and it all has to do with wp being much more configurable and user friendly! To begin with blogger does NOT support Categories!

This fundamental feature is not only very valuable, but also helps organize your blog, and makes it easier for people to find particular types of articles. Yet surprisingly this basic feature is missing in blogger! This severely limits blogger blogs capability to produce meaningful information logs that can be organized for better viewing! But the absence of categories is also a blow for SEO too! In wordpress categories can also aide in the blog’s seo by using not only relevant categories but also keyword rich categories!

Of course there is a work around for blogger to create the illusion there are categories, but requires creating duplicate blogs with identical templates for each category then linking them together. Obviously more work then it’s worth! Until a time that blogger can support categories it can not be considered a true weblog. It is basically a webtoy.

So what is blogger good for? About the only thing blogger blogs are good for is spam. Any other possible use you can think of would be better off on a real blog, and blog besides blogger. Blogspots is good for spam blogs, also known as splogs. If you are not really interested in sharing information, or making a valuable contribution is some way, bloggers will work just fine! If you want to target adsense, bloggers will work just fine. If you want to get new sites indexed faster, or get extra traffic, bloggers will work just fine.

What about other blog platforms besides blogger and wordpress? Any thing would be better then blogger except MSN spaces and Yahoo! blogs. Both suck so bad they can not even be considered for any one with a IQ of 75 or higher. Typepad, Moveabletype, and Drupal, are worthy alternatives to wordpress.Of those, Drupal is perhaps the most interesting alternative.

Wordpress is considered the best choice for many reasons. Highly configurable, over 500 plug ins available, countless hacks, around 1000 templates, best support, easier to get custom templates, boasts the famous 5 Minute Install, solid platform, regular upgrades, and is included in every cpanel. It’s no wonder that wordpress is the number one choice!
