THE FUTURE OF SEO
By Bud Wiser

The End Of SEO As We Know It!

As I see it SEO in general will become less dependent on the top three search engines, and turn to more marketing in other areas that have yet to be fully tapped in. Many of these new areas are in fact brand new and ripe for exploiting! This will include but not limited to, RSS Syndication, targeting more directories, more search engines, getting more quality links with the priority on quality, not quantity, ezines, newsletters, real advertising (not buying or selling text links for PR).

Specialty search engines will be on the rise, and there is good reasons for this. Currently the serps on Google, and Yahoo! have become a royal mess! Finding relevant content is very difficult, and you can not blame spammers for this! Google in particular as tightened it’s algo so much to fight spam that it has become the worse search engine for relevancy as proven by various experiments by individual seo webmasters who monitor the top 3 search engines for relevance.

In addition blogs will just continue to become more popular which means blog aggregator directories will continue to grow and be able to produce more referral traffic. Even now I get more traffic from Techorati then MSN on some of my blogs! This will only improve! More and more webmasters are seeing the great marketing potential with RSS Syndication, I see this avenue being pursued more aggressively!

After Jagger sent shock waves through the Internet, it forced us all to evaluate the way we SEO. Gone are the days of aggressive reciprocal link exchanges, in it’s place will be the pursuit of more relevant quality exchanges, the emphasis on quality, and not quantity! Also Jagger was a wake up call for many who realized how heavily they rely on one freaking search engine! While many have made a living off Google over the years, it will only get harder to dominate good ranking on Google (and Yahoo and MSN too). Webmaster’s are starting to see the importance of expanding their marketing to include many additional sources!

I believe all of this is good news for webmasters! Although the transition may seem awkward for some at first, because we have become so use to and comfortable with the same dull routine we call seo, it won’t take long for webmasters to see the new benefits! In short this new direction we are going in, will be good for us!

New Spamming Techniques And Programs

I am also aware of 3 new programs that will be coming our way very soon to make life even better for spammers. I am not at liberty to discuss what they are in too much detail, or who will be making them, I can only assure you they will be coming from well known players! I can tell you that a couple of these programs will address blogger blogs, and trackback spam!

There is still a lot of research and development going on regarding working around the nofollow tag, and defeating captcha! Early results seem to show a lot of progress has been made in these areas! I was totally blown away to see how some people are defeating captcha and the nofollow tag! Very cleaver programmers out there indeed!

Yes this new year will be very exciting for all of us webmasters! Expect a lot of new anti-spam techniques introduced, and weeks later, if not days later, counter anti-spam programs appearing! It seems any thing “they” can do, we can do better!

So if you have not added Army Of Blogs in your RSS News Reader, I suggest you do so! You would be hard pressed to find another resource page like this one that provides you so much information on automated blogging, and marketing!
