HOW TO BREAK IN TO THE ADULT INDUSTRY

Many people ask me, Bud how can I break in the Adult Biz? Is it hard? Well I have some good news for you. It’s not hard at all! And I will show you how to break in the adult biz with zero investment on your part, with out having to buy any content, or worry about any of the legal hassles like 2257 or record keeping, or credit card processing!
I’ve been involved in the adult biz since 1994! I got my start locally through a local cable show featuring provocative themes, and later in interactive x-rated multi media. Soon it became clear there was a goldmine on the Internet! The adult biz is still as strong as ever how ever the times they have changed. It is harder for a newbie to break in to the biz with their own adult web site. The reasons are many, most notable the latest 2257 revisions which makes webmasters custodian record keepers for any content they distribute or buy. How ever there is a work around and it’s 100% legal!
The first thing you need to know is the adult market is a little like the non-adult markets you are familiar with. We approach the marketing end of it in a similar fashion. We try to find a strong niche, or create a new niche, and promote it. There are some problems associated with the adult biz as far as seo goes. Any conceivable porn related keyword or phrase you can think of is highly competitive! There is no such thing as a non competitive adult term! So there is less dependency on search engines. We get our traffic many ways. And you will get traffic I promise you
There are two main ways to make money in the adult biz. Your own site, or through affiliates. Since it is very hard to break in to porn with your own site, I highly recommend using affiliates to break in. You don’t need any content or even a web site. The affiliates supply you every thing you need from promotional content, pre-made galleries, all you need to do is link your codes some where! Make no mistake about it, there is good money in affiliate programs, and there is no shortage of affiliate programs either. So how do you find a good affiliate program? You ask a seasoned expert like yours truly! Rule number one. In the adult market you can not mix business with pleasure. In other words you can not go by what YOU think will work, or what YOU think is hot. It doesn’t work like that at all. This is perhaps the biggest mistake newbies make, and also why the fatality rate is so high with newbies! Forget about what turns you on, it’s not about you! It’s about finding out what will appeal to the masses. And you may just be in for a rude awakening! You may be surprised to see what works and what doesn’t work. And there is logic behind it all. For example you may think hot young drop dead super models would sell like crazy right? Yup, you and about a million other webmasters! In fact there is so much FREE content available these days there is no need for any one to ever join a pay site for all those main themes! You’ll die a poor man before you make any money promoting drop dead super models!
NICHE MARKETS!
The key is finding strong niche markets! Look for stuff that isn’t so saturated or easy to find! Find a affiliate with interesting niches, they all specialize in niche markets these days! Don’t put all your eggs in one basket! try several niche markets, the more the better! Use blogs to promote them! Spam newsgroups regularly! It’s still going to be a numbers game! You can not just pick one affiliate, and one or two niches and expect to make any money. You need to really experiment with many different affiliates and niches, and when you do find one that seems to work better then the others, milk it baby! Push it hard! Totally exploit it to the max like there is no tomorrow, because tomorrow it could be a dried up niche!
I’m going to give you list of some of my best affiliate programs, I recommend you join them all, even if you do not start promoting them all at once. You will get on their mailing list and they will send you newsletters announcing new programs and niches! Start promoting a few them immediately on blogs. Promoting porn requires using pictures! So pick the very best sample pics to promote, resize them to conserve bandwidth on your blogs. Yes bandwidth can be an issue for you in the adult biz because the demand for porn is so high and it’s so graphic intense. I recommend resizing the images to around 400 pixels wide or high. Just large enough to fit your blog without hurting the formatting.
By being an affiliate you are exempt from the 2257 requirements. You are not the custodian keeper of this material, you are not promoting your own porn, you are simply advertising for another company. Simply providing links to THEIR websites! You have nothing to worry about!
