Effective Spamming
By Bud Wiser
If you Google the terms, “spam”, and “spamming”, what you will find is a myriad of results from anti-spam pages. Even if you goggled the term, “how to spam”, you would still only find anti-spam crap, except for a few paid advertisements. Google it seems can not return a relevant search result for your quest. May be they have a problem with spam, or may be this is just another indicator how bad Google’s algo is for true relevant searches. they certainly don’t have a problem with spam if it’s a paid advertisement
Which brings me to the topic at hand, effective spamming. I’ve been posting articles about spamming, and “how to spam” for over 10 years! Information of this kind is rare and hard to find on the web. So consider yourself lucky of you some how found this page.
Effective spamming is an art, and science! Although any one can spam, it takes skills to master the art, and survive getting banned, or worse. There are no secrets to effective spamming, just plain common sense practice. Unfortunately most newbies will have to learn the hard way, through much trial and error. The most brilliant and effective spamming comes from the porn biz, which I got my start from back in 1994. I dare say, we not only invented Internet spam, but also keep improving it.
First of all let me make it clear to newbies, and self appointed Internet watch dogs, I am not advocating any illegal activity. One can spam their brains out with out ever breaking a single Federal or State law! Indeed, our main concern or obstacle isn’t the laws, but instead the unrealistic Acceptable Use Policies (AUP) implemented by Internet Service Providers, hosts, and search engines. They are entitled to create any AUP’s they want, and we are not obligated to comply to any of them!
So how do you get around these anti-spam fanatics? Easy! As I said, as long as you do not break any real laws, AUP’s are NOT laws, you really have nothing to worry about accept may be loosing a few accounts here and there. No biggie! You can reduce some of this by not hosting your spam sites on the same server and account with your regular sites. Also register through proxy for all your spam sites. Never use your real name of personal information on any of your spam accounts! And do NOT put all your spam domains on the same host! This will reduce a great deal of trouble for you in the long run.
One of the biggest mistakes a lot of spammers make is they spam for their main sites! Really dumb thing to do. You should never provide a direct trial to your main sites from your spam sites. So how do you spam for your main sites with out actually spamming for them? Well for years the porn biz would simple create 1000’s and 1000’s of cloaked doorway pages with sneaky redirects on free hosting accounts. These disposable doorways would redirect traffic to main sites in such a fashion that making a direct connect is difficult. This technique is for traffic, not for creating backlinks to boost PR.
Another really sneaky way to redirect traffic is through pop-up consoles. Not the endless versions that crash browsers. That is referred to as circle jerks, and the primary purpose for circle jerks is to create fake traffic, or the appearance of real traffic to cheat toplists in to sending your main site real traffic. A much better way to cheat topsites over the old hitbot trick.
But if you are not involved in porn, you are limited to the number of tricks you can use. After all you really almost entirely on search engine traffic, so your doomed from the start! By only spamming only the top three search engines you greatly reduce your full capability and become a slave to search engines. Another really dumb thing to do. There are only three main search engines, but millions of web sites and how many millions of email accounts?
One should not place any limits or restriction on themselves. SEO is the smallest and least signifant factor in the big picture. Yet the majority of webmasters spend most of their time on SEO! Marketing is a much better avenue to pursue. Even search engine marketing (SEM) is better then SEO. I consider black hat seo just as insignificant in the big picture. You can not just really on seo, white hat or black hat, you need aggressive marketing!
Effective spamming regardless of who you target, search engines, email, usenet, forums, web sites, blogs, ezines, directories, links pages, consist of a never ending campaign from multiple sources, untraceable, and unstoppable. The rest is just a numbers game! Don’t just restrict your targets to relevant themed sites or niches! You can sell almost any thing on any thing! People are people no matter where you find them! I’m not suggesting that targeted spam isn’t more effective, it sure is, but who says you can’t spam off topic? You will never get permission to spam from any one, anti-spammers view all spam the same, so don’t worry about it!
How much is too much? Hard to say for many reasons, but you don’t want the same people to see the same ad too many times in the same week. So spread it out as much as you can. Try targeting new niches you might not otherwise think would convert for your ads. You never know. Take Viagra or example. You can sell that any where!
Keep good records! Track all your campaigns with unique redirect urls. Assign unique urls to every thing you do, even each different banner. Track your stats! Keep a log! Look for patterns, see which campaign is doing better and which are doing nothing. Scrap the bad ones and try new ones! Milk the good ones dry! Keep a good record of your expenses, and profits!
Email spamming still works, but get a bullet proof host and bulk email company to do the spamming for you! With all the strict laws in the US surrounding email spam, even with the can-spam act, it just makes better sense to take your business across the pond away from US jurisdictions. Just make sure you have a registered business or address in that country. That can be done by establishing a real mailing address, and bank account there. You are now untouchable. If you must do the bulk email yourself and you are based only in the US, you will need to comply with all the regulations, but the can-spam act does help a little, and you can still create opt-in mailing lists that convert, but you need to work it!
Check back regularly for more effective spamming advice from the Son of Spam himslef, yours truly! I am a firm believer in your right to spam, but you need to do it responsibly, and intelligently. if you go at it haphazardly, you will fail miserably!
